Honestly, I'm really not sure I've ever followed my heart.  Or maybe my head and heart are just so in sync, I've never had to make the choice between the two.

So, why am I selling cupcakes instead of giving them away?  Well, I am in the Warren County Leadership class and our class project is feeding needy families in Warren County.  Each class member is responsible for raising $100 by this Thursday!  In order to do that I am selling cupcakes, “Buy a Cupcake, Feed a Family” and all of the proceeds will go to putting food in the mouths of families across the county.  Each cupcake will be baked from scratch with love by ME!  If you don’t want a cupcake but would still like to donate, your donation will certainly be appreciated.

To purchase a cupcake, you can stop by my office, I can deliver cupcakes to YOUR office or you can purchase them in the Student Development office on the honor system. For deliveries, please e-mail me.

A little bit more about our project:

Our organization is the  Warren County Leadership Institute, working in conjunction with the Warren County Economic Development Corporation (http://www.wcedc.com/wcli/). The goal of these two groups is to facilitate community growth and development in Warren County.  My leadership class is doing that by purchasing food through the Calvary Angel Food network (http://calvaryindianola.org/angelmenu.aspx).  Then with the help of school counselors, DHS and churches the food will be distributed to families across the county.  We are also collecting home furnishings for Haven House, a home in Indianola that is helping families bridge the gap between being homeless and being housed, if you are interested in donating items to that please let me know.  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Bottle caps + floral wire + glitter = glitter buds!  


I love all of my button flowers and these are a great addition.  I will certainly try to sell some of these at the consignment shop with the rest of my crafts!



I'm still not done working on them, the glitter goes everywhere as soon as you touch the buds so I am going to spray them with a matte finish that will hold all of the glitter in place.  Then, TA-DA!
