busy, busy, busy!

I'm crazy busy but I wanted to take tonight and post somethings so there are a ton of them! I am in the middle of Student Staff training and haven't had more than 7 (usually less) hours of sleep for at least a week (and I LOVE SLEEP) so I am exhausted. I am enjoying my staff, they crack me up and are all around fun characters.

While I haven't watched the Olympics at all (except the opening ceremony), I still LOVE Michael Phelps! What a cutie, and he's wicked tall so that's a plus!

Lately I have seriously been enjoying the song "More time" by Needtobreathe, it's a great song, check it out if you get a chance!

Today we were at the park doing team building games and I got to see a HOT AIR BALLOON TAKE OFF, I was ridiculously excited, and the only one on staff who stopped and stared for 20 minutes!

Amazing right?!?!?!

08-08-08

On 08-08-08 I went to Jen and Lee's wedding in Kansas City! It was a GREAT party! I loved every minute of it. There were a ton of people who I had gone to Graceland with and some that I hadn't seen for a very long time, so it was nice to see them! I did guest book and favors with Lindsay which made for a fun pre-wedding time. While I wasn't saying, "Hello, here is a program and a CD as a favor for coming to the wedding. Gifts are on the table over there. Have a fun evening!" (seriously I said it like 8 million times) I got to talk with amazing friends, some that I haven't seen for ever!

The bride a groom (I stole this picture from Chelsea's blog)

I don't think words can explain how truly amazing J&L's wedding was, it was beautiful, unique, fun, beautiful, funny, entertaining, delicious and beautiful! The Bridesmaids wore plain ole' black dresses, which I love, the groomsmen walked into the song "Oh Yeah" by Yello, and the bridesmaids walked into "She's got the look" by Roxette. Lee's sister sang "the way I am" by Ingrid Michaelson which was gorgeous and only made better by the groomsmen clapping along. The seats for the guests were in a circle and Lindsay and I got front row seats to a touching ceremony by a close friend of the bride and groom.

Some of us girls after the ceremony (also from Chelsea, I think).

After the ceremony, the reception was in the same space, they had a band, cake AND ICE CREAM! The band was great it took a little bit of time but there were a bunch us out on the dance floor! It was such a fun night I was sad when it ended, but wish Jen and Lee the BEST (as they are an amazing couple and Jen is my FAVORITE HP ever!)

Of course we had to get a Hanthorne picture... with like 8 different cameras (this one is from Lisa).

I loved Jen and Lee's wedding! It was so fun I want them to have a wedding again!

Mike and Amanda's Wedding!

A few weeks ago I went to a Mike and Amanda's wedding, it was in Des Moines so just a short drive away for me. Lindsay came up from Kansas City and she went with me, when we got there we met some other friends too! It was a great wedding, very small and beautiful. The bride was gorgeous and it was great to see some friends I haven't seen for a while!

Here is one of the lovely bride and groom!

And here is one a photo of the Hanthorne girls who were at the wedding!

Prayers to Georgia

With the conflict in Georgia becoming intense, I would like to ask you all for your prayers. When I was a HP at Graceland one of the women who lived on my floor was from Georgia. She was an amazing young woman named Tata, who became close to all of us on the floor and she has been deeply missed. Tata and her family live in Tibilisi, Georgia and while the invasion is not centered in this area, I know that she is and will be affected. Please keep Tata, Tata's family and the rest of Georgia in your prayers.

At a time like this I am proud and lucky to live in a nation that is so strong, while I do not agree with many choices that America and/or its leaders choose I cannot help but feel a little safer knowing that I will be protected, fed and cared for. I will pray that all people can feel this safe in their home nation.
